Torn Between 2 Lovers...(Screw or Don't Screw?)

First off...get your mind out of the gutter!
Back when I first started building driftwood animals I freely screwed the wood everywhere. Seriously! out of the gutter!
I felt no need to hide my screws! Life was good! Hehehe!
Then a few followers broke my bubble and suggested that I try hiding my screws. I was a slight bit offended, I know they were just trying to help, but I liked the look of them! I had no problem selling my "First Edition" (as my manager calls them) sculptures!
It got into my head. It made me find new discrete ways to fasten the driftwood together.
Yes the sculptures have a flawless look, but now I'm getting people telling me they love the look of the screws, and I should have never changed my method. They say they like the labor intensive look, the flawed, hardware look, that I loved in the beginning!
GONZO is blasted with screws! I think the screws make his look!
GONZO my little cranky hefty boy! You will always be my favorite!

If you did what others told you to do, then it wouldn't be your art. It would be theirs.

"Art is a personal thing. When you invest in a piece of art, you buy a piece of that artist. The artist knows every curve, every stroke, every tiny detail in the creation of each piece. Each creation puts a personal intimate part of that artist on display for the whole world to see"
