EGYPT not just a country anymore. My driftwood peacock is now finished! If you haven't seen him on Facebook or Instagram here's the photo of him (with my new camera): The reason it took me so long to get him posted is I have been running into a few problems. First of all, his feathers took a month and a half to be delivered from China! So you ask, "why not just go out and buy them?" Because if I was to buy 400 feathers from Michaels, it would have costed me 5 dollars a feather. If I bought them from Hobbie Lobby, it would have costed 3 dollars a feather, plus U.S. Exchange rate! The cheapest I could have done the feathers for would be $1200, plus exchange, tax, border fee, gas, and time to drive and get them. So I finally got the feathers just in the nick of time. I had to reorder and have them sent by overnight delivery from Amazon, since my batch hadn't arrived in time to have the peacock ready for the Rose Festival. I added the 200 feathers to the piece and was very happy! I got to the arena under different light and this is what I got: Omg! How embarrassing! You could see right through the EGYPT'S gown!!! Lucky (for Egypt, this is) no one showed for the festival and I was able to get him home and put on the 200 more feathers that finally came from China!
I returned EGYPT'S toe back to its original spot, after my manager broke it off, and now he's ready to be show cased!
