Do or Die, Smile or Cry!This is it, no turning back now!
So I'm finally ready. Months of sculpture building, booth preparing, and spinning ideas within my brain! Booking rooms, hydro, parking, sewing drapes, planning meals. Recruiting help, ordering prints and signs. And that isn't even the half of it. I was late on booking a uhaul truck because I wasn't given a 'move in' date for the show until early March. Called for a uhaul and they had Nothing! PANIC MODE! Everyone that had boughten a house in the Niagara region was moving that same week! I wanted to rent the biggest truck, 26 feet, for one week. I had to settle for a 17 foot (only 14 feet inside) for two days! I've had to stream line my booth tremendously with last minute down sizing on everything! No hard walls in my booth now, only curtains. Can't bring some of my larger sculptures. But who knows, once I get the truck in the driveway, I might have to eliminate more bulk! Everyone cross their fingers for me that I have enough space for everything I have planned on bringing. So just a last reminder that you can buy discounted tickets on my website here: http://www.dawnmariemacsporran.com/events.html Hope to see everyone there!

Count down till show time! You are looking at one of my first sculptures made in 2015. Gonzo is one of my favourites. This week counting down to the ONE OF A KIND SHOW... I gave Gonzo a 15 hour upgrade. If you have been following me, Gonzo had visible screws over his entire body. I have evolved the process into a unique method of screw concealment. It was a bit tricky to revise Gonzo since I was unable to use my method properly. But after the pain stakingly make shift process, he's a new stream lined version of the old! So Gonzo will be representing my outdoor sculpture category. Since my booth is only 10x20 I have to limit the amount of large sculptures going to the show. TINA LEAH, the driftwood mermaid will be my giant WOW FACTOR, at my booth. With her exotic ostrich plumage and her intense intricate shell work, she will WOW and bring in the customers!
My booth will be located at M4. If you make it to the show, stop by and have a look. Maybe even lend a hand! Or keep us company. During the 11 hour days we will welcome a new friendly face!! My helpers for the event are as follows: Set up: Dave, Darius March 29: Dan, PJ March 30: Dan March 31: Dan April 1: Andrea, Nicole April 2: Nicole Tear Down: Dave, Darius I am so thankful for these people for stepping up and helping during this long stay in Toronto! Here: http://www.dawnmariemacsporran.com/events.html This show is a pretty prestigious thing! My art application went through a jury to be able to show at this special event. I also won the NEW ARTISAN SCHOLARSHIP that was just over 2 Grand! So I'm pretty excited, to say the least! I've been building a lot of new stuff that hasn't been posted on either my website or Facebook. So a lot of you probably think that I have dropped off the map. I wanted this show to have a huge impact, so all the new items will be posted on my website after the show! I hope to see you all there! |
